Thought of the day: Why so serious?

This morning, I looked at my calendar and felt that familiar weight of a busy week ahead. It’s my week with the kids, and I caught myself worrying—what if they get sick? What if plans get disrupted? But then I paused and asked myself: Why so serious?

Nothing has happened yet. Life is flexible. Meetings can be moved. Deadlines can adjust. Kids getting sick isn’t the end of the world—it’s just life.

And then I thought about the important meetings I have today, and again the words came: Why so serious?

I can be present, positive, and even joyful in serious spaces. I don’t need to dim my light just because something carries weight.

So today, I’m choosing to smile. Because underneath the calendar blocks and responsibilities, there’s a happy girl inside me who just wants to live and feel and be.
