Writing a book
I’ve finally decided to write the book I’ve been carrying in my head for years.
It’s not because I suddenly have more time (I don’t). And it’s not because I think I have all the answers (I definitely don’t).
I’m doing it because I’ve spent the last 15 years trying to lead in a system I was never built for.
As a high-masking autistic, as an introvert, as someone who overthinks everything, I have learned how to lead in a way that works for me. And I’ve had to unlearn most of what traditional leadership advice teaches us.
But here’s the thing: I’ve spent too much time waiting for the perfect moment. Waiting until I knew exactly how to start. Until I had the confidence. Until someone gave me permission.
No more.
This book is for everyone who’s ever felt like they lead despite their personality, not because of it. For the quiet ones. The anxious ones. The ones who care too much. The ones who never saw someone like them in charge and assumed they weren’t cut out for it.
The concept is simple: 10 rules.
Ten personal, lived-through, sometimes messy, sometimes hard-earned rules for leading when you’re different. Not louder. Not tougher. Just different.
Each rule will be honest. Direct. Practical. Neurodivergent-friendly. And deeply rooted in real-world leadership, not theory.
Some of the themes I’ll explore:
Showing up when you don’t feel ready
Unmasking without burning out
Leading with quiet confidence
Navigating power when you’re not part of the club
Redefining success on your terms
I’ll share more about each rule in the coming weeks as I write this book .But I wanted to say this out loud to keep myself accountable — and maybe reach someone else who’s been thinking of doing something brave and terrifying, too.
If that’s you: do the thing. You don’t need to be ready. You just need to begin.
