47 things and nowhere to start

I signed a contract on Friday. Small one. But still.

Today is Monday and I'm staring at a list of 47 things I can't start.

While the milestone gave me a great boost for 48 hours, no one warned me that after that, it wouldn't necessarily create momentum but instead it would create more pressure to figure out what's next and how to keep the momentum going.

This week also has a podcast recording, a goodbye dinner with my old Vestas team, and Roskilde festival. The old world and the new one, all at the same time.

I wrote about it in this week's edition of Anyway, my newsletter about what leaving corporate actually looks like from the inside.

A warm, slightly cluttered workspace showing the tension between accomplishment and uncertainty. A large whiteboard dominates the scene with the heading “47 Things” and a long to do list including lead generation, outreach, podcast recording, proposal work, website updates, and LinkedIn content. Colorful sticky notes around the board read messages such as “Momentum isn’t automatic,” “No natural starting point,” and “What actually matters?” On the desk below are a laptop displaying “Signed Contract,” scattered papers, a notebook marked “Plan?”, and a coffee mug labeled “Week 5.” In the background, a modern office building represents the corporate world while a Roskilde Festival poster symbolizes the new, less structured chapter ahead. The image captures the feeling of leaving a corporate career, gaining freedom, and suddenly being responsible for deciding what comes next.
